In 2013, as an associate dentist, he started Veteran's Dental Day which is an annual day of service for local veterans to receive free dental care at our office. He also volunteers frequently at the Matthew 25 Dental Clinic in Fort Wayne as a dentist and member of the advisory board as well as at the St. Martin's Dental Clinic in Garrett as a dentist. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Kolkman also believes in lifelong learning. He has continued his education after dental school earning Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as Associate Fellowships in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the World Clinical Laser Institute.
